Within the framework of the T-MEC, Sehinbaum said Friday at his usual press conference:
We both have a lot of trade with the United States, but there is also a lot of Mexico-Canadá
The president explained that she will receive Prime Minister on Thursday at the Government Palace and then both will offer a press conference.
Carney will hold other meetings on Friday in Mexico City, before leaving.
The two leaders will also talk about the investments that Canada has in Mexico in sectors such as Mining, Gas and Railways, Sheinbaum explained.
The Mexican president met on August 5 in the Mexican capital with the Minister of Finance of Canada, François-Philippe Champagne, and with the chancellor of that country, Anita Anand, to prepare the visit of the prime minister.
After that meeting, Sheinbaum expressed the interest of Mexico to expand trade with Canada and the investments of that country, in the midst of Trump’s tariff offensive.
The US president justifies the taxes to his two partners claiming that they do not do enough to contain the migration of undocumented people and the traffic of fentanyl.
