Some media denounced the weekend, possible directions in several of the bids for purchases of transformers of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE).
In this regard, Félix Sosa, president of ANDE, denied the accusations during an interview for channel 5Días.
“We are only having problems with one of the consortia that is not meeting delivery deadlines. This will cause these firms to be disqualified for the following calls ”, he specified.

SUMMER OPERATING
When asked about the “Summer Operation”, he pointed out that very hot days have been recorded in September but the system responded well.
According to data from the state company, the maximum consumption peak was recorded on February 23 with 3,777 MW of power consumed in a single day. Normally each year the increase in demand is exactly equal to the power of the Acaray dam plant. But there are usually 260 MW remnants in the summer.
This, every year is increasing. ANDE’s planning then focuses on how that additional power will be served. This is an extra consumption of 6 to 7% that increases each year.
NUMBERS
Sosa reported that the goal for 2021 is the installation of 7,000 new transformers so that those already installed are not overloaded.
“All the customers that were on that overloaded transformer are without power. We have more than 5000 new transformers as of October ”, he explained.
On the other hand, ANDE is carrying out the construction of 100 new distribution works. They are lines of feeders that serve 2,500 to 3,000 clients each. This in order not to overload.
“In addition, we work on the maintenance of 250 23,000-turn feeders. Existing lines must be optimal. In addition, we will do the maintenance of 13 thousand transformers installed in the various sectors ”, he concluded.
