Santo Domingo – He National Health Insurance (Senasa) He informed that ten private primary care centers of the subsidized regime have been notified about the suspension of your contracts Under the captured payment modality. The measure will be applied in a form gradualmaintaining the provision of services during the 30 days after notification, a term in which the centers can meet with Senasa to evaluate the current contracting model.

He Executive Director of Senasa, Edward Guzmánhe pointed out that the action seeks optimize primary careconcentrating state resources in a model that allows strengthen the public network and offer better services to the affiliates of the subsidized regime.
The entity recalled that two payment modalities coexist in its system:
- Capitated paymentwhich grants a fixed monthly amount per affiliate, regardless of the amount of services used.
- Payment for serviceswhich remunerates according to the attention actually provided.
The transition to the payment scheme for services seeks greater transparency in the use of public resources and contribute to the strengthening of the primary care network.
The institution clarified that the measure does not affect the contributory regimewhere contracts with private providers remain in force and in normal operation.
Senasa reiterated that she maintains her commitment to guarantee access to health of all the Dominicans and will continue working with the private centers that operate under the payment model for services.
