He Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) began ex officio with the procedure of Cancellation of Legal Personeries of Civic Unit Solidarity (UCS) and Nationalist Democratic Action (DNA) for not having exceeded 3% of the vote in the general elections of August 17.
Now the two political parties will be notified during these days, confirmed the vowel of the TSE, Gustavo Ávila, in a contact with media.
The Law 1096 of political organizations establish that one of the causes of the loss of legal personality of political parties and citizen groups is “not having obtained at least 3% of the total valid votes in the last choice to which they attended. ”
According to the official calculation of the general elections, the DNA alliance obtained only 1.45% of the total valid votes and the UCS alliance, 1.67%.
“We are going to wait for the response of the political parties (once they are notified) and then take a final determination. This we have to do always fulfilling due process,” added Ávila.
Once a final resolution is issued, the affected parties may present extraordinary appeals or resources of review, “which does not mean that they are right,” said the vowel.
