This Wednesday, March 9, the Chamber of Senators proceeded to the election of the vice presidents of the Corps, and in this framework it was the second vice president, Amanda Della Ventura, who became president.

Bianchi (who was holding the presidency at the time) asked Della Ventura to remove his identification for one of the options for the next referendum.

“Those of us who are sitting here, all of us, and especially in the presidency of the Senate, do not have to be identified with any political option. I ask you for the good of the Republic, because I too could have come with a political ID and it would never occur to me. I will gladly give him the place, otherwise I will finish the session myself”, said Bianchi.

In any case, the Broad Front bench withdrew from the Chamber, for which the session was adjourned.

“If they leave, let them leave, I have no problem. The Republic is above all”, Bianchi pointed out.

“You can’t preside over the Senate like that”

On his Twitter account, Bianchi published a photo of Della Ventura with the mask and said: “You cannot preside over the Senate that way, because it is an institutional position. What would the FA legislators have said or done if I had presided over the session with a ‘NO’ badge? It is true, perhaps nothing because they do not understand that we are a Republic”.
