Given the protests of urban teachers in La Paz, the Minister of Education, Edgar Pary, asked this Wednesday that the sector “reflect” and attend the dialogue convened for Wednesday afternoon.
The authority considers that with this scenario more acts of violence will be avoided, such as those that occurred at noon, when a group of teachers was repressed by the Police with tear gas to prevent them from entering Plaza Murillo.
“At this time there is violence and violence generates more violence, we must reflect as teachers, that we are the reflection of the students, and we invoke dialogue to be able to solve the problems that exist,” said Pary, who also confirmed that the Government assigned 3,300 items throughout the country for this management.

On Tuesday, the 31 federations of workers in the educational area marched from El Alto to the seat of government and this Wednesday they took to the streets again to demand a larger budget for education and provision of items.
“We are going to explain to them this afternoon, at the meeting of understanding that we have requested, it is not, as they say, that it is insufficient. We have invited, we have attended, first we have attended and the reality has been raised in terms of items, in educational matters, the distribution has been made, we have made the invitation again to hold the coordination meeting”, remarked the national authority in contact with F10.
wounded and apprehended
The education sector reported that, after the repression by the Police, there are five injured teachers and four apprehended, a fact that was rejected by the Police, who reported only one apprehended.
“This is the democracy of a government supposedly of the people. Today in the morning we have been strongly repressed in a march that was peaceful. We have five wounded and four arrested,” said Patricio Molina, one of the teachers’ leaders, interviewed by Unitel.
The Police, for their part, reported that a uniformed officer was injured and that a teacher was arrested, who was allegedly inciting violence while intoxicated.
