In the Waraira Repano Hall of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, in Caracas, a presentation aimed at strengthening the use of natural resources was developed through the application of the circular economy model. The activity, entitled “Starting in Circular Economics”, was conducted by the Ecosocialist spokeswoman Xiomara Cuevas, who presented the need to move towards an environmental management focused on the reuse, repair, renewal and recycling of materials.
Cuevas explained that this approach implies “redesign, new industrial performance patterns; the idea is that nothing more than Earth or what is on Earth, but to use what is already out, is already processed.” The proposal moves away from the traditional linear scheme extract, manufacture, use and discard, where the reinstatement of waste to the productive system as new resources is raised.
The spokeswoman stressed that this vision must be promoted with greater force this year, through the great Mission Mother Earth Venezuela. “You have to reimprorate this point because it is very important for the communities. We must reach zero waste and waste, that our streets are free of the badly called garbage,” he said.
The meeting was attended by various people in person and virtual, which allowed to reflect on the technical and social challenges involved in the transition to a more sustainable model in the country. Cuevas reiterated the importance of “rethinking the model of the environmental management of waste and waste.”
The day is part of the ecosocialist training spaces promoted by the National Government, aimed at consolidating public policies that strengthen environmental sovereignty and rational use of natural resources.
