Yesterday, Interior and Defense Ministers, Carlos Malaver and Walter Astudillothey appeared before the Congress Defense Commission with the aim of clarifying the situation facing the National Police before the complaint that they would have hacked the Intelligence Directorate (DIRI) and filtered relevant information of the agents of the PNP and other data from the same institution.
The session of the aforementioned working group was held in reserve at 3:00 pm yesterday and had only the participation of the parliamentarians who make up the commission and both ministers.
In conversation with Peru21the member of the Defense and Congressman Group of Popular Force, Fernando Rospigliosi, said that the situation that the National Police went through is not a case of hacking.
The legislator explained that, as discussed at the meeting, a PNP member would have obtained the DIRID data and voluntarily leaked them.
It is an non -commissioned officer of that institution, who works in the same intelligence direction. He would have taken advantage of his position to obtain the information and share it publicly.
“There has been no Hackeo to Dirin. As far as it is known, a Dirin noncommissioned officer is the one who stole the data from within and then leaked them,” was what the congressman Fernando Rospigliosi explained to this newspaper.
PNP hacking
The National Police of Peru (PNP) alerted last Friday 5 on a possible hacking to the database of the Intelligence Directorate. This was detected on September 14 by the Digital Security Division.
According to the official document, a potential gap was identified in the servers administered by said division, which “would have allowed unauthorized accesses to applications used for messaging, such as Telegram, especially through the channel called Defaceperu Chat.”
