While investigations around the network continue Huachicol Prosecutor, the Security Cabinet and President Claudia Sheinbaum clarified that the ship captain Abraham Jeremías Pérez Ramírez, who allegedly committed suicide Antier at the facilities of the Port Protection Unit of Altamira, Tamaulipas, is not linked to the case.
Yesterday, the Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection, Omar García Harfuch, also said that there have been no arrest warrants against the PAN Ernesto Ruffo, former governor of Baja California, nor against former Morena Gerardo Novelo senator.
Nor, he said, there is a relationship with the murder of Ernesto Vázquez Reyna, delegate of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Tamaulipas.
In the town of the town, the head of the FGR, Alejandro Gertz Manero, informed that, during yesterday, the 14 arrested for this case were linked to the process.
Sheinbaum confirmed that there will be zero impunity in the investigations and considered that “the one that there is one, two or three elements involved in an unfortunate fact like this (and are processed) speak well of the institution, strengthens it.” In particular for the collaboration of the agency with the FGR “to reach the latest consequences.”
On the captain of the ship, he said that “there is no certainty that he was involved in this process,” and the prosecutor added that “it is a totally personal order to which we must have great respect. We are waiting for the information of what happened.”
But that person, he stressed, “was not linked to any of the cases we are carrying. It is a matter of another nature.”
Both the president and Gertz Manero insisted that the investigation into the Huachicol Prosecutor arose following the “series of complaints that about corruption problems, illicit enrichment and money laundering” made the former marine secretary Rafael Ojeda in 2024.
The president remarked that “the investigation continues, as well as cases” in which we have found fuel that “was entering the border such as chemicals or other substances.
“We do not accuse anyone who is not within the lines of investigation, but simply where there is evidence. Zero impunity to corruption and crimes.”
The Secretary of the Navy, Raymundo Morales, explained that the institution maintains internally “many controls; we have counterintelligence, control and trust measures, many ways to prevent corruption from embedding the institution”, and added that the investigation continues: “We cannot give detailed information, but we are collaborating with the FGR”.
He said that the Prosecutor’s Office brings the investigation “long ago and we resume it with greater intensity from the assurance of the ship (with diesel) in March”.
The chief of the Executive indicated that work is being done on the amount of the embezzlement, but commented that, after the assurance of the ship, the Ministry of Energy “saw the sale of fuels increased, particularly diesel in the north of the country.”
