Senator Nicolás Viera traveled to China in the framework of a meeting that brings together legislators around the world with the Chinese people’s association with foreign countries.
Taking advantage of the occasion, Senator Rosarino visited the headquarters in Beijing of the Rosario Refrigerator Investor Group and met with the president of the Yang Dianzhong group.
“The meeting was very positive. He showed me the different investment items of the group in the different countries and explained the company’s will to continue investment in Uruguay,” said Viera.
“In fact, they have covered important debts inherited by previous entrepreneurs, they are working on a reopening schedule and, in parallel, they have closed some agreements with Chinese importing groups to facilitate the entry of Uruguayan meat,” said the legislator.
Asked about the level of concretion of reopening, Viera said that “the future is encouraging. We will expect cautiously that this is eager to see the plant working again. I know that the media have had access to information about the local process and that for me is important.”
He highlighted the work of the Uruguay Embassy in China for providing translator and accompaniment as well as the agriculture aggregate of our Embassy Lucía Rodríguez who was always present.
