The group of friends in defense of the United Nations Charter issued a statement in which it alerts on the escalation of hostile and threat actions by the United States government against Venezuela and the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a peace zone.
In the document they need their concern about the deployment of US forces in the region, including nuclear weapons.
They categorically reject the threat of the use of force against sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of the Republic of Venezuela.

Special statement on the escalation of hostile actions and threats of the United States of America against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as “Peace Zone”
1. The group of friends in defense of the Charter of the United Nations echoes the deep concern manifested by a large number of states of Latin America and the Caribbean due to the recent deployment of US military forces in that region, including assets with nuclear capacity, in a direct escalation of hostile actions and threats against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
2. The member states of the group of friends in defense of the United Nations Charter remember, in this context, the special statement issued on August 16, 2025 and reiterate their conviction and its categorical rejection of the threat of the use of force against sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
3. The group of friends in defense of the United Nations Charter expresses its firm support for all efforts aimed at asserting the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a peace zone, while highlighting that this statement, issued by the community of Latin American and Caribbean states (CELAC), in 2014, affirms the sovereign right of their peoples to determine their own destinations, free of external interference Its permanent commitment to resolve controversies by peaceful means, with the aim of uprooting forever the use or threat of the use of force in the region.
