The cost of the basic food basket increased in February in the 17 capitals surveyed by the Inter-union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese). According to a survey released today (9) by Dieese, the highest increases were in Porto Alegre (3.4%), Campo Grande (2.78%), Goiânia (2.59%) and Curitiba (2.57%).
In 12 months, comparing February with the same month in 2021, the highest increases occurred in Campo Grande (23%), Natal (19.9%) and Recife (16.9%).
The most expensive basket is in São Paulo, which costs R$715.65, followed by Florianópolis (R$707.56), Rio de Janeiro (R$697.37) and Porto Alegre (R$695, 91). Despite having the highest cost of the set of basic items, the basket of paulistanos was the one that had the smallest increase in February (0.25%). In Florianópolis, there was a rise of 1.72% and 0.66% in Rio de Janeiro in February.
Aracaju has the cheapest basket, estimated at R$ 516.82, after an increase of 1.77% in February. In Recife, the basket increased by 1.12% and was the second cheapest (R$ 549.20). In João Pessoa, third basket with the lowest value, there was a variation of 1.98%, reaching R$ 549.33.
Products
Among the items that pulled the highs in February is beans, whose price rose in all capitals. In Belo Horizonte, carioquinha beans rose by 10.14%. Black beans had an increase of 7.25% in Rio de Janeiro.
The kilo of coffee rose in 16 capitals, falling only in São Paulo, where the price dropped 3.86%. The biggest increases were in Goiânia (7.77%), Vitória (5.38%), Aracaju (5.02%) and Brasília (4.99%).
Soybean oil increased in 15 capitals, with the highest increase in Curitiba (2.98%). In Fortaleza and João Pessoa, the product fell by 0.86% and 0.42%, respectively.
