After more than three decades of uncertainty, the remains of four men killed in May 1992 by a subversive group in the communities of Santa Rosa de Tama (Junín) and Tambillo (Pasco) were recovered in the Alpachaca place, located on the border between both departments.

The bodies correspond to Gerardo Fortunato Guerra Ponce, Wilson Samaniego Castro, Cristóbal Serafín Briceño Laura and Federico Bonifacio Coquez. At that time, relatives of two of the victims managed to locate and bury their loved ones, but two others remained in place, remaining there so far.

The exhumation was possible thanks to the joint work of relatives, forensic experts and specialized prosecutors, who transferred the remains to the Legal Medical Unit III of Junín in Huancayo, where they will be analyzed for their full identification before their restitution to families.
