The United States drug control administration (DEA) reported yesterday that it carried out global operations against the Sinaloa Cartel, and stressed that it arrested 617 alleged members of the criminal group and seized more than 10 tons of drugs.
The DEA reiterated in a statement that the cartel represents one of the most significant threats for public safety and health in the United States, so it claimed to be committed to “dismantling its control, control and distribution structure”.

“The drug control administration announced the results of an operational increase of one week awarded to dismantle the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most violent and powerful drug traffickers in the world, responsible for flooding the United States with fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.
Terrorist organizations
“In February, the Trump administration appointed the Sinaloa Cartel, along with seven other groups, as a foreign terrorist organization. The Sinaloa Cartel remains one of the most important threats to public safety, public health and national security.
“The DEA undertakes to dismantle its command, control and distribution networks.
“From August 25 to 29, 2025, DEA agents in 23 national field divisions and seven foreign regions carried out coordinated compliance actions that resulted in 617 arrests, and the confiscation of 480 kilos of fentanil heroine and 420 firearms.
