A single fire source remains active in Río Negro, in the city of Bariloche, while the flames remain extinguished and contained in Corrientes and Neuquén, the National Fire Management Service (SNMF) reported today.

The agency specified in its daily report that in Patagonia, the fire in Río Negro, in the Lago Martín Complex in the city of Bariloche, which began on December 7 due to a lightning strike in the area, remains active.

41 brigade members and support personnel affected by the fire fighting, summoned by the SNMF and National Parks, work at the site.

In addition, the SNM deployed four planes (3 fire hydrants and 1 observer) and three helicopters that operate from the Bariloche and El Bolsón bases; and two support boats and mobiles.

Meanwhile, they specified that in the Corrientes localities of Mburucuyá, Santo Tomé, Alvear and San Luis del Palmar they no longer register active fires.

The report finally indicated that the outbreaks in the Neuquén city of Aluminé remain “contained.”
