Frigate Captain Boris Michel, Head of the Unit for Supervision and Control of the Vice Ministry of Fighting Smuggling, reported that between August 25 and September 6, operations were carried out that allowed to seize used clothes, agrochemicals, agrochemicals, agrochemicals, Argentine corn, televisions, cigaretrrillos and an undocumented vehicleor, with an affectation to smuggling exceeding three million Bolivians.
In detail, 61 bales of used clothing, 150 pressure pots, 31 agrochemical boxes, 10 shampoo boxes, 590 bags of Argentine corn, 389 televisions, 16 boxes of cigarettes and a Suzuki Swing vehicle were chattered. In addition, two undocumented motorized ones were incinerated: a Nissan Condor and an Ipsum Toyota.
Regarding the destination of retained products, Michel explained that perishable foods are delivered to Senasag and then to Emapa for commercialization at a fair price, while fuels pass to the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) for its analysis and eventual reinstatement to the domestic market.
Currently, more than 360 troops are deployed at the borders with Peru, Argentina and Chile. The latter is considered the most conflicting area due to the presence of new illegal steps detected in Pisiga-Toldowhere it was possible to stop the entry of undocumented vehicles.
Michel also revealed that the products that leave the country illegally are egg and edible oil, in addition to diesel and LPG carafes. According to official data, as far as 2025, more than 8,000 patrols were carried out, with an affectation accumulated to the smuggling of Bs 101.5 million.
