“We face right -wing governments and kept firm; we have overcome a pandemic and a neo -fascist government, persevering in our principles; we confront a military coup and here we are in the Praça da República, with haughty, to say that they will not prevail over us, because our movements have not forged cowards, but serious and engaged militants,” said Gilmar Mauro, representing the movements of workers, representing the movements of workers, representing workers movements, representing workers movements Landless, one of the organizers of the act.

“At the same time, we are occupying the streets and networks to combat the attack on our sovereignty and defend democracy. A new blow is being plotted, which is amnesty. And we have to show on the streets that people do not want amnesty, and we are showing it here today,” he told the Brazil agency State Representative Antônio Donato, PT leadership in the State Assembly.

The defense of these flags extended to government programs and the performance of justice. The speeches also recalled the trial of Bolsonaro and the others involved in the attempted coup of January 8, as well as quoting the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas, and the mobilizations of the right by amnesty. They also spoke out against US interventions on the continent, as in the speech of Miguel Torres, leader of Força Sindical:

“We gathered on the streets to commemorate this achievement, but also to reaffirm the fight against the invasion of our territory, foreign interference in our sovereignty, impunity and any amnesty project ongoing. It is imperative that, at this crucial moment, we are vigilant against politicians who neglect the interests of society and conspire against Brazil,” said Torres.

The pocket act, scheduled for this afternoon also in São Paulo, was remembered by those present, in speeches and interviews with the press.

“There is no democracy without sovereignty. And there is no democracy if it is approved amnesty, because if approved is a demotivation for the Brazilian, the world and for the Brazilian justice. In this September 7, fortunately we are in a democracy that allows both us and the far right, ally of Bolsonaro, to speak in Paulista, and we in the Praça da República. recognize the importance of sovereignty, democracy, as well as the right of the working class to combat inequalities and privileges in this country, ”he told the Brazil agency Ricardo Bonfim, General Coordinator of the Popular Movement Center.

In faces, clothing and colors, the mobilization in Praça da República was attended by militants from all leftist parties, from the most traditional to new groups. One of the veterans, Malvina Joana de Lima, a retired educator, has been a petista for 44 years. He lived 580 days in the Free Lula Vigil and, therefore, said he is not cold or rain that removes her from the streets, even with her 72 years. “We fight and resist our homeland. Brazil is ours, and it is not up to the outside, to Trump, to send it here. But for the week, I am prepared to party, it is not possible that they do not pay for what they tried to do with our democracy,” he said.
