On the second day of her accountability tour – where she received the support of two opposition governors – President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the start -up of the Comprehensive Program for the export of quality meat, within the frame BARRENOR
He also stressed that PRI Esteban Villegas Villarreal declared himself “claudist.”
In Durango, the president said, “we want her, she has friends, feel like her family and, although we are not the same party, I identify with you and I am a claudist, who do not forget.”
Hours later, in the macroplaza of Monterrey, where he was booed, the president of Nuevo León, Samuel García, thanked him “his courage and how firm it has been with the theme of the United States and to defend Mexico.”
“I feel proud to have a president who has been firm against the tariff war and that thanks to his position we have made it clear that Mexico is respected.”
In the esplanade of the heroes – which looked full – asked respect for Governor Samuel García to the boos he received.
“Everyone is respected here. We are working very well, in a coordinated manner. When one is in the Government you must know that, although we have come from different political parties, we govern for the people and there must be coordination between municipal, state and federal governments.”
Earlier, Sheinbaum explained that the Comprehensive Program for the Export of Quality Meat implies the delivery of “Bovine stallions, a credit fund for fattening with very low interest rate and comprehensive meat production centers of the best quality”.
Durango will receive 700 million pesos; Sonora, 831, and this Sunday will announce the corresponding for Coahuila. In Hermosillo, the president specified that “the resources are already ready, so before September ends will begin the first installments.
“In this first stage we begin with Sonora, Coahuila and Durango, and in a second it is contemplated to include Chihuahua and Tamaulipas. The goal is that Mexico produces and export the best flesh,” he said.
Sheinbaum acknowledged that this 2025 “seemed very complex”, given the imposition of US tariffs and recalled that since March, when that government announced the rates for Mexico, he raised “acting with a cold head, with a lot of temper, because we have to convince the President (Donald) Trump that it is better to work together in security, in all the issues, coordinating us.
“Of course there are sectors that are more affected, but we are the country that on average has fewer tariffs around the world, and it is for a relationship of respect with the United States, never subordination.”
“The economy is going well”
The president stressed that this year “there has been good news, even though many thought we were not going to be able to overcome the threat of tariffs, which we were not going to be able to negotiate properly with the United States government.
“They have stayed with the desire because Mexicans are a lot of piece and the economy is going well.”
Sheinbaum declared that during his visit to Mexico, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, recognized the historical and cultural wealth of the country. He also announced that the construction works of the Saltillo-New Laredo passenger train will start on Tuesday.
