The gray sky of the morning failed to overshadow the brightness of faith. Thousands of pilgrims, with rosaries in hand and looks full of hope, accompanied the Virgin of Cocharcas in her journey from the Cathedral of Huancayo to her sanctuary in the Sapallanga district.

The songs and prayers accompanied the Cocharcas mamacha for more than five hours of walking in a route of around 13 km. On the way, schools, parishes and families adorned the streets with altars and floral carpets as a symbol of their devotion and love for the Virgin.

It should be noted that the route was headed by the archbishop of Huancayo, Monsignor Luis Alberto Huamán Camayo, who accompanied the faithful from beginning to end throughout the Real Street.

With the blessing of Monsignor in the church of Sapallanga, the pilgrimage culminated. For its part, the crowd, which thanked and requested the intercession of the Virgin, dispersed with the commitment to meet again on the eve and the central day that will be held this Sunday 07 and Monday, September 8.
