The Armed Forces will comply with the Justice Verit about the coup plot, said Defense Minister José Múcio, last Friday (5). In an interview with journalists, the minister commented The judgment of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) where former President Jair Bolsonaro and several high-ranking military personnel are responsible for an attempt to coup after the 2022 elections.
“The Armed Forces motto is to respect the decision of justice. This is a problem of justice and politics. The Armed Forces are a different thing, they serve the country. So we are aware that we had to go through it all, we are serene and awaiting the verdict of justice, which will be fulfilled,” said the minister.
Múcio spoke to the press after a meeting between the Navy, Aeronautics and Army commanders with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Among the themes was the September 7 parade in Brasilia. According to the minister, the subject of the judgment in the Supreme Court was not dealt with at the meeting.
Asked about the amnesty project to those convicted of a coup attempt that the opposition defends in Parliament, José Múcio said he does not know the text under discussion and that this is a matter of Congress, but considered that a dispute between powers is not good for Brazil.
“I think if it is discussed in a constructive way and not to be able to compete with the [outro] Power, to make strength assessment of those who boss the most, I think this arm wrestling does not serve the country. We are when we have to join everyone to build this country, ”he added.
