The municipal savings and credit boxes They advance in the implementation of a single digital wallet that will enter into production between March and April 2026, according to José Osorio, commercial director of the Transactional Intelligence consultant, wallet supplier.
The project, led by the Peruvian Federation of Municipal Boxes (FEPCMAC), seeks to integrate in a single platform the transverse services that each box develops in isolation and with high costs. Among the planned features are services, transfers between customers from different boxes, sale of insurance and microseguros, as well as the possibility of managing microcredits digitally.
Each user can register in the wallet linking their accounts to the municipal box of their choice, maintaining the direct relationship with their entity. The Federation will assume the negotiation of agreements and contracts with suppliers, which will allow the boxes to access economies of scale, reduce costs and expand the offer of services.
After overcoming the coordinations with the regulator and with the Compensation Chamber, the project is in the technological integration stage and operational definitions. According to Osorio, the initiative will allow the boxes to compete in the digital ecosystem with a joint, more efficient and sustainable proposal.
