The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, warned that any attempt by the United States to transform anti -drug operations into a military escalation into the Caribbean will find firm opposition from his government.
The president stressed that an armed conflict in Latin America would have unpredictable consequences for the Caribbean, where the island states are among the most vulnerable to security and stability crisis. He insisted that even limited action could have a disproportionate effect in their countries.
The prime minister called on global powers to stop the tendency to convert disputes into wars, defending the appeal to diplomacy and dialogue as a way to resolve tensions in the continent.
