The electrical deficit exceeds 1,700 MW and will affect 51 % of the national territory.
Madrid, Spain.- The Electric Union (UNE) He reported this Friday That the national electrical system will maintain a critical situation, with blackouts in more than half of the territory due to the strong generation deficit.
In its daily note, the state company acknowledged that the service was interrupted during the 24 hours on Thursday, September 4 and that the effects extended throughout the morning of this Friday. The maximum disconnection of the previous day occurred at 7:50 p.m., with a deficit of 1,575 MW.
For today, UNE said that generation availability is 1,790 MW, compared to a demand of 2,900 MW, which already caused a real impact of 1,070 MW in the morning. The forecast for noon amounts to 1,150 MW affected.
The situation will be aggravated during the highest consumption schedule. According to the state electric, in the night peak the demand will reach 3,500 MW, while the available generation will be only 1,799 MW. This will generate a 1,701 MW deficit, with an estimated affectation of 1,771 MW, equivalent to more than 51 % of the national territory.
In parallel, the UNE stressed that the 28 photovoltaic solar parks of the country produced a total of 2,190 MWh, with a maximum of 536 MW contributed at noon, an insufficient figure to compensate for the structural deficit of the system.
Electricity cuts exceed 20 hours a day in the provinces of the East, while in Havana the blackouts reach up to 10 hours a day.
The Energy crisiswhich crawls since mid -2024, obeys breakdowns in obsolete thermal plants, programmed maintenance, lack of fuel and lubricants, in addition to the stoppage of tens of distributed generation engines and bad government management.
