In charge of Department for Social Prosperityyesterday began the period of payments of the eighth cycle of the year of the Colombia Mayor program, which aims to ensure that older adults who are homeless, who do not have a pension or who live in poverty receive a minimum income that allows them to improve their quality of life and access their basic needs. When will the payments and amounts be?
The eighth cycle of Payments 2025 of Colombia Mayor began on Wednesday, September 3 and will run until September 19.
In this period, 527,602 adults over 80 years will receive a differentiated payment of 225,000 pesos, while the beneficiaries between 65 and 79 years will receive 80,000 pesos per month.
Payments are made safely and staggered, by bank transfer or turns through the Agrarian Bank of Colombia and its allies network, with the aim of facilitating access to resources throughout the national territory.
The beneficiaries will receive the information of the exact date and the payment modality by means of a text message to the registered phone, ensuring that each person can claim the subsidy in an orderly and effective manner.

Requirements to access Colombia Mayor
To receive the assistance of the program, older adults must meet the following conditions:
• Have 65 years or older (or 60 years if they reside in areas with special conditions defined by the Government).
• Be classified in groups A, B or C1 of SISBÉN IV.
• Do not have sufficient pension or income to cover your basic needs.
• Live permanently in Colombia.
