Prime Minister responds to the Nation’s Prosecutor: “He does not want to spend or does not know how to spend”

Prime Minister responds to the Nation's Prosecutor: "He does not want to spend or does not know how to spend"

The requirement of the Nation Prosecutor’s Office to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) to be granted an additional budget item of S/81 million fell in broken bag.

The president of the Council of Ministers, Eduardo Aranahe rejected that from the Executive Branch they have refused to give him more resources and argued that the institution that leads Delia Espinoza Not only has not executed to date 1,228’259,000 soles of the budget allocated for this year, but within that amount there are S/128.3 million that are not destined for any specific expense.

“She, just doing an administrative procedure, could immediately have that money. What she does not realize is that if she does not execute it, she will have to return it later. (…) It is an aspect that should share it with some expert in public budget matters so that she realizes that she is internally, in her own hands,” he said.

Ana added that there are other S/125 million assigned for an electronic fiscal folder program that, he explained, is the equivalent of an electronic judicial file. “It allows, in real time, access the information of your folder and save administrative staff, prosecutors and make the folder available to both the complainant and the denounced so that they can exercise their rights within the framework of the law quickly,” he noted.

“There is huge time savings, what happens is that one has to go to ask for the latest provisions. What citizens could have is predictability and would no longer be (the folder) in the hands of a prosecutor or assistant with the possibility that the file can be hidden or cannot be updated. This file has been assigned s/125 million of which they have only spent 6.1%. The question is. spend?

In another passage from his statements, the head of the Cabinet said that in the last three years the Public Ministry has returned to the public treasure part of the resources assigned to him. In 2022, he said, there were 22 million soles; in 2023, 333 million and in 2024 a total of 87 million soles.

Purchase of hunting aircraft

At the end of the session of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo, also spoke about the trip, days ago, of several ministers to the United States, Sweden and France to collect information with a view to the purchase of hunting airplanes.

He said the issue is under evaluation. “The three models have very important characteristics that somehow meet the requirements of the Peruvian Air Force; fundamentally it is to analyze what we need as a country to be dissuasive in the region and contribute to national security,” he said.

On the same subject, Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer said that “the visit to the three countries has been alencing.” “We are in the phase of the necessary studies at the strategic level to then be able to say what is the instrument or platform that best suits national interests. (…) These are dissuasive elements that ensure all national development in an environment of peace and concord in the region.”
