Boy played for Atlético Español and Atlético Potosino, but where he forged his history as a footballer was with the Tigres of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, where he won two league titles.
In the 1978-79 season he was recognized as the best offensive midfielder in the first division in Mexico.
In the Tigres he not only won championships, he also scored more than 100 goals that today keep him as the second best net breaker of the royal team, only behind the Frenchman André-Pierre Christian Gignac.
