The Congress Justice and Human Rights approved an opinion that proposes to modify articles 54 and 61 of the Law 29248, Military Service Lawin order to Expand the rights and benefits of quartered personnel and the graduates of the Armed Forces.
The measure was supported with 15 votes in favor, 2 against and 1 abstention in the session chaired by the legislator Flavio Cruz Mamani (PL). The legislative initiative was presented by the congressman Roberto Chiabra (app).
Benefits for quartered personnel
The changes incorporate new provisions that seek to recognize active duty. Among the benefits are:
- Health benefits in Minsa hospitals and their own institutions.
- Free income to museums, historical sites and public shows organized by the State.
- 25 % bonus on the final grade when applying for training schools of FF.AA., PNP and Merchant Marine.
- Annual reserve of up to 30 % of vacancies in subaltern schools for those who served in areas of Amazon border or in armed actions.
- Free transport in state systems, with military card, uniformed or not.
Benefits for graduates
In the case of graduates, benefits are included to facilitate their insertion in the work and academic sphere:
- 15 % bonus in work competitions in public administration.
- 50 % discount in registration in military, police, penitentiary and maritime training institutions.
- 20 % bonus in the first stage of public tenders of the INPE.
- 30 % bonus in selection processes in municipalities for work linked to serenazgo.
Additional provisions
The opinion also raises modifications to norms linked to internal security, such as Law 31297 of the Municipal Serenazgo Servicethe Law 29709 of the Penitentiary Public Race and the Legislative Decree 1213 on Private Security Services.
If approved in the plenary, the opinion will mean a important reinforcement in recognition and remuneration to those who comply or have fulfilled military service in the country.
