The former government minister, Arturo Murillo, arrived early on this Thursday smiling at Viru Viru International Airport, In Santa Cruz, on a plane from the United States, where he was deported.
In the country, Murillo has several criminal proceedings against him, of which he even meets Two sentences: One of eight years and another of five years with four months.
The eight -year prison sentence is due to the purchase of tear gas and the five -year sentence with four months is for the irregular entry of non -lethal weapons to the country from Ecuador.
Upon arrival, Murillo was apprehended to comply with his sentences and the Minister of Government, Roberto Ríos, informed that he remains in cells of the same airport waiting for his transfer to the city of La Paz.

The ex -authority will also be transferred by air to the government headquarters, where it is expected to reach noon.
“Once you arrive at El Alto airport, it will be aimed at police units (of La Paz), where a judge will determine its legal status,” said Ríos.
Murillo in the US
The former minister was captured in May 2021 in the United States accused of conspiracy for money laundering and bribes within the framework of the purchase of riot material during the government of Jeanine Áñez.
In January 2023 he was sentenced to 70 months in prison after declaring himself guilty in that country and in June this year he was released in advance by good conduct. Then he was transferred to a migrant detention center, where his deportation was finally resolved.
