Havana seeks to strengthen its links with the Vietnam Army to contribute to “traditional friendship” between the two countries.

According to that media, Phan Van Giang said that cooperation in defense has been one of the pillars of the bilateral relationship and has contributed to strengthening collaboration in other sectors. Minister Vietnamese also highlighted the placement of a floral offering in Hanoi by the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel and his delegation in honor of the fallen Cuban military experts, the first completed element of the commemorative complex that is erected in the Museum of Military History.
For his part, the Chief of the General Staff of the Popular Army of Vietnam (EPV) and Vice Minister of Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, said that the party, the State, the people and the EPV are willing to support Cuba against their current challenges, reported Vietnam+ (VNA).
According to the Vietnamese media, the “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba solidarity” program reaffirms the link between both governments and, in the face of its materialization, the General General Staff of the EPV will instruct the integral implementation of the 2026-2028 Defense Cooperation Plan, in addition to promoting the twinning between agencies and corresponding units of both parties.
