Head of the Pentagon states that military operations against drug trafficking will not cease

The US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegesh, said that the government “knew exactly who was in that boat” destroyed a day before and that, he reiterated, transported drugs for the Aragua train. “Any other person who traffic in those waters and that we know that it is a designated narcoterrorist will run the same fate”

The United States Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, said Wednesday that military operations against drug posters will continue in the Caribbean, after the attack on a quick boat that Donald Trump’s administration states transported drugs for the Aragua train.

In this “mortal attack”, as the Secretary of State Marco Rubio called 11 people. The US authorities have not explained the legal justification used or even what drugs there were on board, but Hegseth said the operations would continue.

“We have air assets, water assets, active in the ships, because this is a very serious mission for us, and will not stop only with this attack,” he said in an interview with the Fox News chain.

“Any other person who traffic in those waters and that we know that it is a designated narcoterrorist will run the same fate,” said the head of the Pentagon, who refused to provide details on how the operation was carried out, claiming that they were classified information.

If he said that the government “knew exactly who was in that boat,” while commented that Trump “is willing to go to the offensive in a way in which others have not done so.”

“It is a clear sign to the Aragua Train, to the Sol poster and others that emanate from Venezuela that we will not allow this type of activity,” he reiterated.

The United States has deployed warships in the southern Caribbean in recent weeks, with the aim of fulfilling Trump’s promise to combat drug cartels. Seven American warships, along with a quick attack submarine of nuclear propulsion, are found in the region or are expected to arrive soon, with more than 4,500 sailors and marine infants on board.

Maduro has said that these actions seek to appropriate “free Venezuelan oil” and pointed to the US to invent “a story that no one believes.” The Minister of Communications, Freddy Ñáñez, said that the video released by the Trump administration was created with artificial intelligence.

When asked about Venezuela’s close relationship with China, Hegseth harshly criticized Nicolás Maduro. “The only one who should be worried is Nicolás Maduro, who is (…) effectively the capo of a narco -state.”

Last month, the United States doubled its reward for information that leads to Maduro’s arrest to 50 million dollars, accusing it of ties to drug trafficking under the Los Solos poster.
