State Representative Tiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva (MDB-RJ), known as Th Joias, was arrested on Wednesday (3), suspected of intermediating the purchase and sale of weapons to the Red Command, the state’s main criminal faction.
The deputy was the target of an operation of the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Rio (Ficco-RJ), composed by the Federal Police (PF), Civil Police and State Prosecutor (MPRJ). He was arrested in a luxury condominium in Barra da Tijuca, a neighborhood of the West Zone.
According to the investigations, Th Joias has a direct connection with leaders of the Red Command, in the Complex of German, Maré and Parada de Lucas, all in the north of Rio.
In addition to brokering the purchase and sale of weapons, such as rifles, TH Jewelry negotiated drugs and anti -ron equipment, to hinder police action in the territories occupied by the faction.
“The parliamentarian used the mandate to favor organized crime,” says a statement from the Civil Police, who named the Bandeirantes operation.
The investigators identified suspicious financial movements that reinforce the money laundering accusation.
Among the targets of the operation are also traffickers, parliamentary advisors, a Federal Delegate, Military Police (PMs) and the former state and municipal secretary of the Alessandro Pitombeira Carracena, who was arrested.

Prisoners
At about 10am, 14 people had been arrested, according to the PF, who named Zargun’s operation. In all, there are 18 pre -trial detention warrants and 22 search and seizure warrants issued by the Federal and State Justice.
At the state sphere, because of the deputy’s privileged forum, the investigation was processed in the Attorney General’s Office, MPRJ Maximum Authority, commanded by Attorney General Antonio José Campos Moreira.
The PF reported that the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region (Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo) determined the kidnapping of assets and values of investigated, reaching R $ 40 million, in addition to the removal of public agents, suspension of activities used for money laundering and emergency transfer from faction leaders to federal maximum security prisons.
Also according to the PF, the organization “infiltrated the public administration to ensure impunity and access to confidential information.” Weapons were imported from Paraguay; and Anti -Dorde equipment from China. In addition, they were resold even to rival factions.
Division of the scheme
The MPRJ detailed the involvement of five targets of the action:
TH Jewelry: The parliamentarian, besides intermediating purchase and sale of weapons and drugs, used the mandate to favor the criminal organization, “including appointing cronies for positions in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj)”.
Trafficker: Another accused is appointed as one of the faction leaders, “responsible for the group’s financial control and the authorization of large payments”, including the authorization to buy the antibranes used to make police action difficult.
Trafficking Treasurer: The accused was treasurer, in charge of storing drugs, storing millionaire values, making payments and intermediating negotiations for weapons and ammunition.
Parliamentary Advisor: The Denunciated Room, Parliamentary Advisor, worked as a supplier of specialized equipment to the faction, especially the anti -ron devices. He was also responsible for field tests and taught other members of the faction to operate them. He was nominated for Alerj by the deputy as a way to cover up the illicit activities.
Treasurer’s wife: The accused, married to the treasurer, had been named for a commissioned position at Alerj. Her function was to serve as a link between the criminal group and the legislature.

In a statement, Alerj reported that it became aware of the issuance of search and seizure warrants in the office of the deputy and that the steps were accompanied by the Attorney’s Office, “which supported the competent authorities.”
