These structures are connected with areas of the Antonio Maceo Polytechnic, belonging to the Popular Council Arts and Crafts. Despite having a perimeter fence, it lacks effective security measures and, according to neighbors, has led to similar accidents in the past.
According to the lifeguard Aris Arias Batalla, who participated in the Rescue operation And he shared the information on his social networks, the child was rapidly helped thanks to a friend witnessed and left for help. The rescue and rescue teams of the Firefighters Command No. 4 and paramedics of the SIUM Santiago were activated, who managed to extract the child and transfer him to the South Teaching Hospital “Dr. Antonio María Béguez César”, known as La Colonia.
In the hospital, Brian was evaluated by a multidisciplinary team and blood and urine analysis were performed. “All studies showed negative results,” said Arias Batalla. The lifeguard also confirmed that the child did not suffer fractures or serious injuries, although it will remain under medical observation in accordance with the established protocol.
The child was accompanied at all times by his mother and grandfather. According to information shared by Arias Batalla, Brian could soon return to his Simón Bolívar elementary school, where he began on September 1 the 5th grade.
The event has revived the criticisms of specialists and neighbors about the negligence of local authorities in the prevention of accidents in these structures. They denounce that, despite being a latent risk in front of an educational center, effective security measures have not been taken.
