Every Wednesday in May, at 8:00 pm and for two minutes, the National Authority for Public Services (ASEP) will carry out four simulations of what will be the blackout of Analog Television.
Hildemar Rangel, from ASEP, stated that as of today, both the entity and the television media must implement a dissemination plan with which they inform the greatest number of viewers about these drills in a timely manner.
“All this dissemination plan and the drills are to encourage each user and viewer at the provincial level to prepare for the analog blackout, Rangel said, indicating that these drills will take place in the provinces of Panama, West Panama and Colon.
He pointed out that the first formal phase of the analog blackout is expected to take place in the last quarter of this year, but that the exact date will be revealed in the coming months.
When the analog blackouts occur, those who do not have digital television or a DVB-T decoder box or an integrated DVB-T digital tuner will not be able to watch television programs since analog televisions will stop working by themselves.
