The lifeless body of Valeria Afanador, the 10 -year -old girl in Cajicá since August 12, was found on August 29 in the vicinity of the Frío River, very close to her school.
The governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Emilio Rey, confirmed that the finding occurred in an area that had already been inspected in the first days of search, which has unleashed multiple questions.
According to information from the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office, it was a farmer who warned the authorities about the presence of the body in the water.
After the notification, Criminalistics Units went to the site and carried out the Technical Inspection, and then transferred the body to the National Institute of Legal Medicine, where the necropsy is advanced that will allow establishing the cause of death and the time that Valeria remained in the river.
New details and suspicions
Governor Rey reported that the body was floating and described as “strange” that it would not have been detected before, despite the routes of specialized equipment and the same community. He even raised the hypothesis that Valeria could have been taken to the place recently. “This situation is very rare and we expect the legal medicine report to know what happened”He stressed.
Valeria’s family and his lawyer, Julián Quintana, denounced irregularities in search work and in the way the investigation was conducted from the beginning.
They point out delays in activating protocols and lack of clarity about the advances of the CTI and the Police. Quintana manifested on social networks that, although they still do not have more details, each judicial procedure will close closely and will demand total transparency in the process.
The Attorney General’s Office now leads the inquiries with the support of an elite team of the Dijín.
