The flotilla of ships that left this Sunday from Barcelona to Palestinian territory to bring humanitarian aid “will save the children of Gaza,” exclaimed a little girl about eight years who attended the series of artistic and cultural activities carried out in front of the hemicycle to Benito Juárez titled From each river to each seaconvened by activists from the global wave by Gaza, called that was replicated in many cities in the country and the world.
Hundreds of people gathered in this capital monument from noon to provide virtual accompaniment to the members of the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The children were the most enthusiastic when making paper ships with which the Palestinian flag formed, as well as Papalotes, with whom they expressed their desire for the well -being of minors and all the inhabitants of that territory on the other side of the world. Mural painting and a musical participation were also carried out by the artists collective by Palestine, whose theme was respect for the Gaza community.
The adults who participated in this activity said they feel despair and sadness for the murder of Palestinians, including children, journalists, doctors, “innocently absolutely.”
Under the midday sun, attendees also made paper pieces or there were children who wrote letters that would be sent to their Palestinian peers. One of them, Sergio Rosas (about seven years), mentioned this newspaper: “I feel that Israel should not attack them because Palestine lent them their home and thanks to that, they live there. Now they are attacking them, it is not fair.”
– What do you think of the children of Gaza?
– That they feel bad, that they would like to have a family. I want them to stop attacking them.
His mother, Alejandra Rondero, mentioned that after two years “to see the people of Gaza suffering and being killed by Israel, my moral compass does not allow me to do nothing. My responsibility is to raise a child who gives love and I do not hate, that it is empathetic and sensitive with what is happening, and that in his heart he grows that feeling of supporting the most needy. That is why we are here.
Another mother, Dalia González Contreras, affirmed her opposition to injustice, the violation of human rights and “to the genocide in Palestine, where life is worthless for capitalist governments.” He recalled that it was his daughter, Silvana, who one day before convinced them to come to this demonstration because “he wants them to save the children, because he knows they are not eating and are suffering much.
“As parents we are interested that this world continues to be governed by certain rights and, above all, that they are left for our daughters. It is very difficult to see that so many children are dying in another country and although it would seem distant, it puts us all in a very vulnerable place to see that no government is doing anything to defend the population in Gaza. It is important to defend that childhood, all that people.”

Ángela Silva said that she has been outraged for a long time for what they do to the Palestinian people, because she saw photographs in The day From a man and his son killed when they were going to buy a car, “although they tried to take refuge in a corner they killed them, that is, the deaths of innocent people is not happening since October 7, but has been decades of crimes against humanity decades.
“I feel quite helpless, and I don’t want to do anything. Today I came to the marathon, but I brought my Pro Palestine poster, to help have a presence in Mexico City and that people find out.”
Relatives of the six Mexicans who embarked were present in From each river to each seainitiative for the existence with dignity of the Palestinians.
The paintings were reflected on the fences placed around the hemicycle, on a white, red, green and black background, to show support messages to the Palestinian struggle, like one with the legend “Juarez with Palestine” and another piece that showed the pain of the Palestinian mothers for their children, their culture and cities attacked.
Mariana Monroy, Communication Coordinator of the Mexican Delegation of the Global Movement to Gaza, reported that the flotilla seeks to break the blockade, carry humanitarian aid and journalists, health personnel, activists, as well as members of humanitarian organizations in more than 44 delegations.
He added that cultural and artistic manifestations are being carried out in the countries where these representatives come.
The make of a Palestinian flag with paper ships, “represent the flotilla and helps us approach people. It is an act of resistance and we will not let it make it a symbol of hate or terrorism because it is not, but appeals to freedom, dignity and human rights.”
He emphasized that Mexico is a very supportive country and “we have dozens of events by Palestine all of the weekend. This has not stopped and every day continues to grow. Limits have been crossed that people are no longer willing to endure, to the degree that there are those who are climbing a boat so it could face the Israeli occupation army.”
