Rate dropped in July compared to May and stood at 6.9%, according to INE data

The National Statistics Institute (INE) recently disseminated unemployment data for the month of July, which registered a decline with respect to the previous measurement in June.

“In June 2025, for the total country, the activity rate stood at 64.2%, the employment rate in 59.8%and the unemployment rate at 6.9%,” Pray the publication of the organism.

This means that 130,300 people were unemployed in Uruguay in May.

In comparison, the June data were 64.2% for the activity rate, 59.5% for employment and 7.3% for unemployment. Meanwhile, in July of last year, the registered values ​​were 64.2%, 58.8%and 8.3%, respectively.

In turn, the July unemployment rate was the same in Montevideo and in the rest of the country (6.9%).
