As a result of a joint operational operation carried out in three sectors of the Mérida state, commissions of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, seized lots of sawn wood and shelters of illegal origin, in addition to carrying out the arrest in flagrance of seven people involved in the fact.
The first action was executed in the Guayabones sector of El Vigía, Alberto Adriani municipality, where a 350 -type vehicle was found with a platform with a sawn wood load (tables, planks and quarters) that totalizes 43 pieces of cedar (cedrela sp).
During the procedure, the capture of three people was practiced, among which was a minor, for allegedly involved in the crime. In the Vergel, Mucuchies, of the Rangel municipality, 200 Eucalyptus stars were confiscated, which were in a 350 truck, practicing the apprehension of two people, who had mobilization guides of forest products.
In the third operation, carried out at kilometer 12, of El Vigía, of the municipality Alberto Adriani, two citizens were arrested, after being found in flagrance at a time when they performed the logging and use of 14 trees illegally.
In that sense, the Environmental Impact Control and Control Unit of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism made the technical expertise of forest products to determine their volume and commercial value. The technical reports were sent to the Attorney General’s Office, with competence in environmental matters, in order to initiate the corresponding investigations and determine the criminal responsibilities to which there is room.
In these deployments, officials of the State Mérida and Bolivarian National Police (PNB), reaffirming the commitment of the Bolivarian Government led by President Nicolás Maduro in the fight against deforestation and the protection of natural resources.
