The Ethics Committee of the Constitutional Convention unanimously resolved to sanction Rodrigo Rojas Vade -who recognized in September of last year that he did not suffer from cancer- and ordered that he return 100% of his diet to the State since his de facto resignation.
The resolution of the Committee is given by a complaint filed on February 9 by the conventional Edward Creton (UDI). Cretton argued that Rojas Vade violated the ethics regulations of the constituent body.

The resolution indicates that Rojas Vade will have to return to the State “the income obtained for 10 days of the month of September (subtracting five days that he worked and the license that he presented), as well as for the months of October, November and December 2021 and January and February 2022”.
According to the document, the sanction was accepted by Rojas Vade.

In the resolution, they also indicated that “the damage caused to the Constitutional Convention, to the State of Chile and to public credibility is of such magnitude that it requires a consistent and satisfactory reparation.”
Let us remember that Rojas Vade recognized in December that he did not suffer from cancer. He then stopped attending the constituent body. However, a few weeks ago he expressed his intention to return, which generated cross-cutting criticism among the constituents.
