A worker of a tap frustrated an assault in the province of Bellavista, located 100 kilometers south of Tarapoto, in the San Martín region, after reacting quickly and launching gasoline to the alleged criminals who tried to attack him.
According to the images of the security cameras, two subjects arrived at the establishment aboard a motorcycle and called the employee, simulating that they required to supply fuel. However, in a matter of seconds, one of them descended from the vehicle and tried to commit the assault.
At that time, the worker made an unexpected decision: he defended himself by throwing gasoline directly against the man who tried to intimidate him, RPP reported.
Before the surprise reaction, the individual retreated immediately and escaped. His accomplice, who waited on the motorcycle, also fled without consummating the robbery.
The action was recorded on video and has circulated in different local media, generating comments on the bravery of the worker, as well as the exposure to risk that implied his response to the threat.
For its part, the National Police of Peru (PNP) reported that the corresponding investigations have already begun with the objective of identifying and capturing those responsible.
The audiovisual material will be used as part of the proceedings, while testimonies of witnesses and the aggrieved itself are collected.
