Santo Domingo.- Education Minister Luis Miguel de Camps reiterated Thursday that promoting the necessary actions for the start of the new school year 2025-2026 that begins this Monday, August 25.
He said that on Monday they held meetings with the 18 regional directors and the 222 district directors and took balance to the topics that remained to refine, “also yesterday (Wednesday) we held an encounter with the fathers, mothers and friends of the schools to obtain from those sources the information for the improvements that can be produced for the beginning of the school year.”
“We see with good eyes that the historical challenges continue to attend and improve and, we are confident that with the participation of the whole society, any challenge will be solved and to be able to start the school year with good foot,” said the official.

De Camps was approached by journalists after participating in the launch of the Alexandra Grullón Academic and Cultural Fund, where he was questioned about the deterioration situation that various campuses record, some that represent a threat to the physical integrity of the students and the teaching staff, which are still not repaired to less than a week to begin classes. He reiterated that all Dominican children will have education, and recalled that everyone’s challenge.
He said that the system has historical challenges and there are even works with a decade without concluding, but that in this management they have insisted that to meet those needs they have to give access to all sectors that are fundamental, the main column are students, teachers and civil society, and the public and private sector.
“Just three and a half months ago there was, but that the School Infrastructure Department began operating, independently as an executing unit that began working with all the elements to meet all those needs,” said De Camps.
He added that systemic problems will have to go attending and prioritizing, and with the positive results in stages to be able to attend them in each process, said the official who called the parents to send their children to schools.
