A state department official said that the review is part of “the continuous verification” they are doing since Trump came to power in January


The administration of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed on Thursday, August 21 that he is reviewing the cases of more than 55 million people with valid US visas, in search of possible infractions that could result in the cancellation of the documents and their deportation of the US.

A State Department official said that “the continuous verification” that that entity performs from Trump’s return to power last January “includes the more than 55 million foreigners who currently have valid US visas”, without offering details about the period of the investigation.

“The State Department revokes visas provided there are indications of a possible inelegability, such as expired indicators, criminal activity, threats to public security, participation in any type of terrorist activity or support for a terrorist organization,” he added.
