The Federal Police (PF) points out that former President Jair Bolsonaro had prior access to the content of the defense of General Mário Fernandes, one of the defendants in the process of the coup plot. The military has been under arrest since November last year.
The suspicion is in the report in which the Federal Police INDICATED BOLSONARO and his son, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), in the case of sanctions from the United States. During the investigations, the former president’s cell phone was seized by the agents.
According to the PF, a document similar to that presented by the military lawyers to the Supreme Court (STF) was found on the former president’s device.
The investigation pointed out that the original file delivered to the court and that found on the mobile phone have the same number of pages and was filed by the defense about an hour after the creation of the file on the former president’s cell phone.
“In view of the notorious similarity between the content of the file found in the former president’s cell phone with that filed in the file of PET 12.100/DF for the defense of defendant Mário Fernandes, it is evident that Jair Messias Bolsonaro had prior access to the content related to the defense of General Mario Fernandes,” says the report.
Bolsonaro and the other defendants are prevented from maintaining contact and exchanging information with each other, according to the precautionary measures provided for in the action. “The prior submission of documents containing defense theses of defendant Mario Fernandes, former President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro, reveals continuity, even after the precautionary measures determined by the judgment, the hierarchical structure and the subjective bond between the investigated,” the report says.
During the Bolsonaro government, the general held the position of executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and was responsible, according to the PF, for the preparation of a Word file entitled “Green and Yellow dagger”, with planning “focused on the kidnapping or murder” of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Vice-President Alckmin.
The PF also points out that Mário Fernandes stated that Bolsonaro endorsed a coup plan until December 31, 2022. In an audio sent to Mauro Cid, former Bolsonaro orders, Fernandes said the former president would have told him that “action” could occur until the last day of his term.
In testimony given last month, General Mario Fernandes denied intending to execute the coup plan. According to him, the file found was personal and portrayed only one “Digitized Thought”.
Defense
Earlier, Bolsonaro’s defense said he was surprised by the indictment and assured that he will provide the clarifications requested by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
