Havana/Pretend at the emergency summit called to support Maduro, Miguel Díaz-Canel on Wednesday denounced as “a new demonstration of imperial force” the alleged military presence of the United States in the south of the Caribbean Sea and described as “false and disproportionate” the argument that it is to combat drug trafficking.
The appointment brought together the leaders of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of our America-Treatment of Trade of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) to give a mass support response to the recent decisions of the US government against Nicolás Maduro-by whom a reward of 50 million dollars is offered-and sending troops to the region to allege, fight drug trafficking. The rulers described these movements of threats of “Yankee imperialism.”
From Havana, Díaz-Canel stressed that the region lives “times of huge challenges and exceptional risks.” The Cuban said the regime “firmly denounces the new demonstration of imperial force” and launched a call to the peoples of the world to condemn the “irrational attack of the Trump administration.”
The Cuban president also criticized the “stimulus and financing to terrorist plans against Venezuela” and the “mendaz accusation” of the United States against President Maduro
The Cuban president also criticized the “stimulus and financing to terrorist plans against Venezuela” and the “mendaz accusation” of the United States against Maduro. Given this scenario, he argued: “There is no other alternative than to face the empire that intends to subordinate us to their interests” and that this must be done “firmly united in convictions and action.”
Díaz-Canel established a parallel with the conflict in Gaza, noting that threats on Venezuela are based on the same “philosophy of dispossession.” In this sense, he called to end the “Zionist impunity” and “imperial complicity.”
In addition, he emphasized the crucial role of ALBA, describing it as the “first shield in the face of the dangers that lurk to peace” and highlighting that “the avant -garde is placed in the denunciation of the continuous imperial stalks.”
The speech concluded with a call to cohesion, ensuring that “neither the intervention bravates, nor the political and economic pressures, nor the disinformation campaigns” are sufficient to break Latin American dignity if the peoples remain united. Díaz-Canel invoked the legacy of the founders of the Alba-TCP, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, and reaffirmed that “only together, united by hope and love for our land, we can build the future that the present and coming generations deserve.”
The rulers of the ten countries that make up the alliance had a similar speech during this, the “shortest alba summit in history”, with almost two and a half hours duration. The heads of state and government of the block insisted on the Regional Union before the “clear intention” that, they assured, has the US to “impose illegal, interferent and contrary policies to the constitutional order of the states of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Maduro, who headed the meeting from Caracas, said that “it is the time of the union” between the peoples of the region to consolidate it as a “territory of peace”, in view, he said, of “the policy that the imperialist government” of the US “intends to implement now” with the region.
The Chavista leader called on the “union of all rebel peoples, of all social movements” of Latin America, the Caribbean, of the United States, of Africa and “beyond”, in defense of the “right of the Venezuelan people to sovereignty, to peace, to self -determination and their future.”
For his part, Nicaraguan Daniel Ortega criticized that “whole Latin America has not reacted unanimously and strongly before the threat (…) of Washington”, which doubled 50 million dollars a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the Chavista.
“Nicaraguan Daniel Ortega criticized that” entire Latin America has not reacted unanimously and strongly before the threat (…) of Washington “
“There has not been a forceful response from the community of Latin American and Caribbean states. There has been, and that is cowardice, that is submission, that is surrender,” he said. Ortega stressed the need to “unite forces” and that “the dignity of Latin American rulers comes out to defend the sovereignty of their own peoples.”
The Prime Minister of San Vicente and the Granada, Ralph Gonsalves, also advocated “working together” in the midst of an “unfortunate intensification of activities against Venezuela and Cuba from some political forces in North America.” The Sanvicentino Head of Government defended that both countries “have the freedom to choose their own development paths.”
Meanwhile, the Bolivian president, Luis Arce, said that Latin American peoples must prepare to “resist and beat” fascism “that stalks the region.
At the end of the summit, the group issued a statement in which the rulers warned that “the US military deployment in the Caribbean waters, disguised as anti -drug operations, represents a threat to peace and the stability of the region and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.”
This meeting was summoned one day after the White House said that the US is prepared to “use all its power” to stop the “drug flow to their country.”
On Tuesday, the White House spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, previously asked about the deployment of three ships with 4,000 soldiers in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela, said the US president, Donald Trump, “is prepared” to stop drug trafficking and “take those responsible to justice.”

The White House spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, said Tuesday that the United States is prepared to “use all its power” to stop the “drug flow to their country”, after being asked about the versions about the deployment of three ships with 4,000 soldiers in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela.
Faced with questions about sending the troops, Leavitt answered in a press conference that President Donald Trump “is prepared” to stop drug trafficking and “take those responsible to justice.”
“Maduro’s regime is not the legitimate government of Venezuela. It is a drug trafficking poster, according to the opinion of this administration. Maduro is not a legitimate president. He is a fugitive leader of this poster, accused in the United States of drug trafficking to the country,” Leavitt insisted.
The media assigned to this surveillance mission include a nuclear submarine, P8 Poseidon recognition aircraft, several destroyers and a war ship equipped with missiles, according to the US US television network.
