In a palace meeting, Sheinbaum did not talk to Adam López of his security chief in Tabasco

After the meeting he held on Monday with the parliamentary coordinators of Morena, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo explained that they only talked about legislative issues and did not put the complaints against Hernán Bermúdez Requena, former secretary of Citizen Security and Citizen Protection of Tabasco.

On Monday afternoon the leader of Senators Guindas, Adam López Hernández, and that of the deputies, Ricardo Monreal, attended the National Palace. During the morning of yesterday, the president clarified that they did not dialogue about the possibility of Adam López left the coordination. The theme “It did not touch.”

Questioned about whether they talked about the case of Bermúdez Requena, he replied: “No … (only) we talk about the legislative agenda. There are already several initiatives in the Senate and in the Chamber of Deputies. It goes one last that has to do with the Amparo Law, because it is part of the reform of the Judiciary.”

Also, he said: “We are going to send the modification to the Customs Law and the Economic Package. We talked about that, what will contain, what are the times; that was the framework. The electoral reform was also mentioned, that they were going to meet soon with the Secretary of the Interior, but we did not touch any other issue.”

Sheinbaum explained that he did not touch the case at the meeting because “the investigations are done by the Attorney General’s Office or state prosecutors that have to do with organized crime matters or the common jurisdiction. In the case of former Secretary of Local Security there is an arrest warrant of the Tabasco Prosecutor’s Office.”

He stressed that “anything that the senator (López Hernández) should declare, to declare it if they call it to declare; he said right now: ‘If they call me to declare, I will go.’ Everything must be with sustenance.”

Last month it was announced that Bermúdez Requena, who participated in the López Hernández government in Tabasco, is investigated by the prosecution of that entity. The former state official is indicated for his alleged link with the criminal group The barredora. It is currently a fugitive.
