The National Jury of Elections (JNE) formalized the registration in the Registry of Political Organizations (ROP) of the All Political Party with the People, the Group of the former President President Pedro Castillo.
The political organization of today imprisoned, however, may not participate in the general elections of April 12, because its registration occurred outside the term established in the electoral regulations. Yes, it may be part of the regional and municipal elections that will be held in October 2026.
With the registration of this group that Castillo joined in June last year from the Barbadillo prison, the number of matches recognized in the ROP rises to 50.
In June, three other groups linked to the ex -president also managed to register, although in an extemporaneous way: ahead of the United Pueblo, which has the heads visible to the Expremier de Castillo, Aníbal Torres, which faces an oral trial for the crime of rebellion for the coup d’etat of December 2022; already Anahí Durand, who was Minister of Women in Castillist management; National United Resurgence (RUNA), led by Ciro Gálvez, another portfolio holder in the Castillo Government, and Popular Unity (UP), of the former president of the Judiciary and lawyer of Aníbal Torres, Duberlí Rodríguez.
These three political organizations may not participate in the April 2026 elections.
According to Office No. 004282-2025-DNROP/JNE, issued on August 18, the process of formalization of everything with the people concluded with the registration of their legal representatives, Dermali Cubas Vásquez and Vidal Julio Solís Peralta. The document also orders the opening of the corresponding item in the Book of Political Parties, Volume 3, Electronic Item 18, with its first registration seat.
Castillo has just suffered a new judicial setback after the Judiciary rejected an appeal presented by his legal defense that sought the cessation of the preventive detention that he fulfills for the coup d’etat of December 7, 2022.
