Santo Domingo. – The former executive director of the National Student Welfare Institute (Inabie), Víctor Castro, clarified that it was during his own management that the National Competition Defense Commission was alerted (Pro-Competence) on possible indications of collusion between four bidders in the bidding processes of the SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAM (PAE).

The statement arises after the announcement made yesterday by pro-competence on the start of a formal investigation against several school lunch suppliers, suspected of anti-competitive practices in public tenders.
Castro reiterated that the warning was sent from the legal direction of INABIE and that this action was the one that originated the opening of the investigative process by the body regulatorin compliance with due process.
The investigation was formalized through the resolution RII-DE-AAC-003-2025 number, which makes specific reference to the four bidders under investigation, according to pro-competence in its official statement.
