Faced with the geopolitical tensions between Venezuela and the United States, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo called non -interventionism, the self -determination of peoples and the peaceful solution of controversies.
In yesterday’s morning, the president answered a question about the issue after the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Monday the deployment of 4.5 million militiamen in response to the “threats” of Washington, which also raised the reward for information that leads to the capture of the president and launched an alleged anti -drug operation with military in the Caribbean.
“No to interventionism. That is not only conviction, but is in the Constitution,” he said.
He recalled that Mexico’s foreign policy principles, stipulated in article 89 of the Magna Cart Development, respect for the protection and promotion of human rights, and the struggle for international peace and security.
“It clearly says the Constitution and it is our position always: the self -determination of the peoples, the non -intervention and the peaceful solution of controversies,” he said.
He was asked if he would call to reduce tensions, to which he insisted: “Non -intervention, that everything is resolved with dialogue.”
