The Government gives 10 days to present two emigrants in Cuba that links sabotage acts

The Cuban government gave 10 days to appear on the island to two opponents emigrated to those that links sabotage.

Did it through two requirements Posted on Tuesday in the Official Gazettein which it is stated that the two men are authors of the crime of “other acts against state security” and had been summoned to present themselves on July 14, but did not attend “to the call of authority.”

Those required by the Government are Miguel Gómez Bártulos and Seriocha Humberto Fernández Rojas, both based in the United States and members of the opposition organization Cuba first, included in the National Terrorist List After its update last July.

In this list, Fernández Rojas also appears personally and is recognized as a resident in North American territory. Meanwhile, other sources and unofficial publications identify Gómez Bartules as an American citizen.

However, the document now published in La Gaceta attributes them a Cuban identity number and a private address on the island, in both cases in Havana.

Reasons for the requisitions

To Gómez Bártulos, the requisition signed “respectfully” by two officers of the State Security Department, points out to have paid for sabotage actions attributed to the document to Yunior Manuel Vidal Rodríguez and Juan Victorio Hernández Sánchez.

These actions are the fire of a tank destined for fuel storage in the town of La Conchita, in the Matanzo municipality of Cárdenas, and the fire of the Mobile of the Granma yacht that was in the central palace of pioneers “Ernesto Che Guevara”.

For his part, Fernández Rojas is charged with “indications of sabotage shares undertaken by the citizen Pedro Luis Fernández Peralta”, who is linked to the fire of the “La butterfly” store, in Santa Clara, and another fire in a military care office in the Havana municipality of Ten de October.

For such reasons, both have a period of 10 days to appear in Cuba before the criminal instructor that takes their cases, which began to count on Tuesday after the publication of the requirements in the Official Gazette.

If this time has not been submitted, the document ensures that they are then declared “in rebellion by the prosecutor or the court, as appropriate.” In addition, “the processing of the process continues and its course is suspended in terms of the declared rebel,” which could lead to both of them being processed and judged in the absence.

These requirements could also serve as a precedent for other cases of this type that involve opponents based outside the country, to which the Cuban authorities link to acts of sabotage or organizations considered by Havana as terrorists.
