Nariño will host the most important green business fair in Latin America in 2025

Entrepreneurs and investors will meet in December in an international event that promotes sustainability and green markets.

The department of Nariño was confirmed as host of Bioexpo 2025, the Green Business Fair considered the most important in Latin America.

The event will take place in Pasto from December 2 to 5, after an agreement between the Ministry of Environment, the Government of Nariño, Procolombia, Corponariño and the Pasto Chamber of Commerce.

The election of the territory was based on its natural, cultural and business wealthwhich projects it as a reference in bioeconomy and sustainable tourism. According to the announcement, the Fair will bring together national and international investors, buyers, exporters and more than six thousand certified green businesses, of which a thousand are developed in Pdet and Zomac territories.

The organizing institutions highlighted the importance of the event as a strategic platform for the country. The Ministry of Environment stressed that Bioexpo 2025 will show how biodiversity can become an engine of employment, investment and sustainability.

Procolombia stressed that the fair supports the efforts of the territories under the construction of peace and evidenced that Nariño and his capital have conditions to host international scope meetings. In turn, the Government of Nariño indicated that the appointment will be an opportunity to promote sectors related to sustainable economies, agriculture and projects in ports, energy and logistics, seeking to articulate the national economy from the department.

The Pasto Chamber of Commerce said the fair will allow local entrepreneurs with international markets to be connectedwhich will strengthen the productive capacities of the region. In addition, during the event, the International Business Wheel of Procolombia will take place, under the “Beauty Country” seal, which will gather exports, investment and tourism.

The sustainable development portfolio explained that, although initially the Amazon had been announced as the headquarters of Bioexpo 2025, the decision was transferred to Nariño. The environmental portfolio said that in Leticia no contractual process had been formalized and that the logistics costs were up to three times higher compared to those of Nariño.

With the destination, Nariño is consolidated as an epicenter of bioeconomy and transition towards sustainable development.
