According to statements by Iliovanys Bentancourt Plaza, general director of the institution, the new center, built in less than 72 days, has three high -tech operating rooms equipped with advanced microscopes and endoscopic towers For minimally invasive surgery.
“We have managed to revitalize a neurosurgical center for the care of the required patients of our specialized services. We have a hospitalization room with 15 beds, and another of 20. Three surgery halls to attend neurosurgical patients. They are spaces equipped with high technology in terms of advanced microscopes, anesthesia, ventilation machines,” he explained.
Its strategic design places intensive and intermediate therapies in adjacent floors, which eliminates risks in transfers.
“The patient receives all the benefits in the same space,” said Bentancourt, highlighting the effort of the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) to finance the works despite economic limitations.

Dr. Ahmed Rubier Ortega, specialist at the Miguel Enriquez Hospital and now director of the Center, stressed that The institution will work as a national reference for complex politraumas in the western region.
